Microforms Reader/Printers

Hillyer and Josten libraries still have some microforms onsite, but the majority of Smith's microforms, including those formerly housed in Neilson Library, have been transferred to UMass.

  • Josten Library has a reader and printer. Call Josten at 413-585-2930 or email josinfo@smith.edu to make an appointment. Note: email is checked once a day.
  • Hillyer has a fiche-only machine.

The University of Massachusetts, Amherst, now serves as the microforms repository for the Five Colleges.

  • Request microforms from UMass using Place Request in Discover Advanced. Delivery turnaround time will be 24 hours (M-F) for loans and article delivery.
  • Microforms may also be used onsite at UMass. Printing from microforms equipment at UMass will require a guest UCard, which is available for purchase.
