Lily Lothrop is an opera singer turned singer/songwriter. Born and raised in Western Mass, Lothrop graduated from Smith College in 2021 with a degree in music. She was an active member of Glee Club, Chamber Singers, and Groove A cappella. She started writing songs for a class lead by Kate Soper, and continued to write after graduation. A vocalist first, woven in her melodies are confessional lyrics of grappling with self doubt, uncovering repressed anger, and the restless desire for change. Never one to speak eloquently when put on the spot, songwriting has given Lothrop a new way to articulate what she actually means. A lifetime coming, "This is What I Can Do" is a cheeky rebuke, and a reminder to herself of what she's capable of, even when facing internal and external doubt. Her EP was released on November 21st 2025, and was reviewed in “Metroland Now”, the capital region’s authority on music.
“Lothrop brings a lot of pop influence to this track [Vitamins], especially with her vocals. It has all of the hallmarks of a top-40 track, while staying true to her sound and vibe – a completely authentic listening experience with mass music appeal is a hard one to pull off, but she does just that.” - Jonathan Patrizio, Metroland Now
