Funding Opportunities
Resources for Faculty & Staff
The Office of Grants & Sponsored Research offers a range of materials, services and grant resources to assist faculty and staff in obtaining funding for research projects and programming. The college needs to coordinate its efforts for both institutional and individual projects, so we request that faculty and staff inform us about any plans they may have to contact an outside funding agency.
Grant Databases
The Smith College libraries provide all faculty and staff subscriptions to two grant databases, Pivot ProQuest and GrantForward. These databases allow you to search for funding using keyword and eligibility criteria and are updated with new grant opportunities as they are announced. Both databases allow users to set up alerts and receive relevant opportunities by email. Please contact the Grants & Sponsored Research Office if you would like assistance with setting up alerts in Pivot ProQuest or GrantForward.

Grant Databases
PIVOT Proquest is a research funding opportunities database that gives administrators and development professionals a competitive edge in easily and quickly connecting the right research opportunities, funding and people. PIVOT combines a comprehensive, editorially maintained database of funding opportunities worth an estimated $33 billion with our unique database of 3 million prepopulated scholar profiles. This provides global and local connections that strengthen research by letting faculty, staff researchers and graduate students explore new avenues for funding and collaboration.
