Smith College is a world-class institution because Smithies give their time, talent and treasure. Every dollar you give, social media post you share, club you lead, webinar you host and alum you mentor bolsters our beloved school. In turn, you benefit from the power of the Smith network and our legacy of paying it forward. Maybe it’s your social media post that Smithies are promoting, maybe it’s you that’s the mentee or maybe it’s you that’s listening to a nugget of wisdom on a webinar just when you need it most. If not today, then maybe tomorrow—that’s the beauty of being a Smith alum: you give and you get throughout the years.

Smith is life-changing and it means everything that I get to study here. Without my financial aid, I wouldn’t be able to afford Smith, and that would break my heart. I’ve been wanting to attend Smith since I was about 10. I grew up hearing magical Smith stories from my mom and her alum friends. I get to learn and grow in the same place she did. Smith is full of the history of amazing women. It will be an honor to carry on that legacy after graduation.

Alum Voices

“Smith taught me how important making a difference is. I knew I wanted to do something big, but I learned that the essence of doing something big is making a difference, leaving a legacy. At Smith, I saw women lead things. I saw women have big dreams. I saw women being vocal. That was really a transformational journey for me.”
Maliha Malek Quadir ’00, Founding Managing Director of Shohoz

“As a graduate of Smith, I have donated to the annual fundraising every year including the year I graduated. Since I am the first person in my family to go to college and I received financial assistance to attend Smith, I truly believe it is important that I contribute to the fundraising efforts and help the college support other students who are attending Smith.”
