Nicholas Schwab
Lecturer in Statistical & Data Sciences
After an undergraduate education in Mathematics at UC Santa Cruz, Nicholas Schwab earned a master’s degree in mathematics from Appalachian State University. He has been interested in effective methods for teaching mathematics through active and inquiry-based learning. He is currently interested in best pedagogical practices for teaching undergraduates data science.
Currently on leave to lecture at Smith College, Nicholas is a professor of mathematics at Holyoke Community College, where he and a group of colleagues are working to start a two-year data science program.
